Break Through Sound Board

Break Through Sound Board

We had the opportunity to fix a uniquely damaged soundboard over the past few months. Here's the story. A piano moving company that does a great job moving pianos had this piano strapped into their struck on its side, like it normally is when moving a grand piano. However, it wasn't strapped in like they thought and when they started driving the piano fell on its side. It fell perfectly on the customer's bench that was put in the moving truck with the legs sticking up. Again, this is how a bench is normally put in a moving truck. This punctured a hole in the soundboard. Over the course of a few months one of our trained technicians perfectly repaired the sound board with shims, glue, pressure, and a lot of patience. We had to take the strings off the plate, take the plate out, repair the soundboard, and then put the piano back together. If you look closely at the final product you can see where are repairs are, but it looks amazing and sounds even better. Here's some before, during, and after pictures.
