Hey Listen!

Today I have been thinking about how listening in any situation is important. But why do we stress listening to classical music?
Many assume that it is because it makes us smarter (which may or may not be true), but the reason that I listen is because of the emotional connection that I can have with certain pieces. It makes you FEEL something. Take a listen to any of the playlists that we have on our YouTube channel HERE.
Another reason, it can help with learning a new language! If you listen to the vocal music that is :)
Good classical music always has something to say. Whether it is about love, happiness, or melancholy, which plays on our human emotions, or provides us with a great imaginative background for playtime, it leads us to real truth and beauty. In the words of Plato, “Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.”
Give a listen to those playlists. Put them on Sunday afternoon's. Spend time with the classics. Just like you notice a difference when you are reading your scriptures and praying, listening to the classics can help you to have the spirit more in your life.
Like Gordon B. Hinckley said: "Enjoy music. Not the kind that rocks and rolls, but the music of the masters, the music that has lived through the centuries, the music that has lifted people. If you do not have a taste for it, listen to it thoughtfully. If you do not like it the first time, listen to it again and keep listening."
Have fun listening :)
