Piano Tuning Backed by Experience—20,000+ Pianos Serviced

With experience tuning over 20,000 pianos, we approach each instrument with a clear understanding of what it takes to achieve stable tuning, clean tone, and consistent performance.

Piano Tuning in Utah’s Climate

Utah’s dry winters and seasonal humidity shifts cause the soundboard to expand and contract, which directly affects tuning stability. As a result, pianos in this area tend to move in and out of tune more frequently, making consistent, properly executed tuning especially important.

Piano Tuning FAQ

How often should I tune my piano?

We recommend tuning your piano every 6 to 12 months—especially if it’s a new piano, played regularly, or in a space with fluctuating climate. Skipping tunings can lead to pitch instability or more costly work later.

How do I know if my piano needs a tuning?

If your piano sounds off-pitch, has notes that clash, or just doesn’t feel quite right to play, it’s likely time for a tuning.

Most pianos should be tuned at least once a year—more often if they're played regularly. If you're unsure, give us a call and we’ll help you evaluate it. Schedule your tuning here to get your piano sounding the way it should.

What happens during a professional piano tuning?

During a tuning, an expert piano technician will adjust the tension of all 200+ strings to bring your piano back to A440 concert pitch.

It’s a careful, precise process that restores both pitch and musical integrity. If the touch feels uneven or sluggish, we can also check if your piano needs a regulation.

You can also request a FREE restoration or refinishing evaluation & estimate at the same time as your tuning!
