Virtues for Virtuosos!

As you may know, our mission of the conservatory is built upon two pillars of instruction: Talent and Testimony. To promote this, each month we encourage discussion and study upon one virtue a month.
The virtue of the month for October is SACRIFICE.
Brought to my mind is a quote from Elder Richard G. Scott: "To reach a goal you have never before attained, you must do things you have never done before." For those of us striving to become better musicians and people, this quote is necessary. We cannot succeed if we do not sacrifice those things in our life that is stopping our progression. For students, this may be TV time, or to put away a certain book that they want to read in order to practice for a little while.
"Sacrifice brings forth the blessings of Heaven." Let us all have a renewed effort to sacrifice those things that we want now for the rewards that we will gain later!
