We highly recommend Abby White!
★ ★ ★ ★ ★
"We highly recommend Abby White for piano lessons! She stepped in to continue the Utah Piano Conservatory’s Piano Academy, which was hosted at Brigham Larson Pianos for seven years, and now teaches students out of her home. Abby is an amazing and talented musician who truly loves teaching. Her passion for music and dedication to her students make her an outstanding choice for anyone looking to learn to play the piano."
— Brigham & Karmel Larson

Meet Abby White!
Abby is Brigham's daughter—a talented pianist & harpist. Recently married, her new studio is now open for students! She has taught lessons for many years and hopes to be the kind of teacher who not only teaches notes, but also leaves a lasting place in the hearts of her students.
"Just as my own teachers shaped my love for music, my goal is to guide each student with patience, encouragement, and practical skills that they’ll carry with them for a lifetime." - Abby

Beautifully Rebuilt 5th-Generation Piano
What makes Abby’s studio unique is the piano itself. Lessons are taught on her Great-Great-Grandma Sue’s piano—recently rebuilt in her family’s piano shop at Brigham Larson Pianos.
Passed down through five generations, this heirloom is now fueling a new cycle of creativity and community. Today, it supports Abby’s teaching studio and extends Great-Great-Grandma Sue’s legacy to a new generation of players.

FAQ

Do I need a piano at home?
Having a real acoustic piano at home is best, since consistent practice between lessons is the key to progress.
However, if you’re just starting out, there are flexible options to help you get playing right away. Abby can advise on short-term rentals, beginner-friendly uprights, or quality digital pianos as a temporary solution.
As students advance, having a well-maintained acoustic piano becomes increasingly important for developing touch, tone, and musical expression.
Are begginers welcome?
Yes. Abby works with brand-new players of all ages as well as adults returning to the piano after years away. Beginners receive step-by-step guidance in reading music, rhythm, and technique, with lesson plans designed to make early progress both fun and motivating.
Adults who are just starting—or picking up the piano again—will find a supportive environment with clear goals that build confidence from the very first lesson.
Can we try harp lessons too?
Yes. In addition to piano, Abby offers harp lessons as a stand-alone option or as an additional option alongside piano lessons.
Abby also performs professionally as a harpist-for-hire for weddings, receptions, and private gatherings.
Do you offer recitals?
Yes. Abby’s students have the opportunity to perform in recitals hosted at the recital hall inside Brigham Larson Pianos.
These events are designed to be encouraging, low-pressure experiences that help students build confidence and celebrate their progress. Families are invited to attend, making recitals a fun community event as well as an important part of each student’s musical growth.
In addition to formal recitals, Abby also offers smaller, informal performance opportunities to help students feel comfortable sharing their music in front of others.
How does the waitlist work?
If the studio is full, families can join the waitlist and will be contacted in order as soon as a lesson time opens. Openings usually come at the start of a new semester or when schedules change, and waitlisted families get first priority.
