This 1980 Yamaha C3 is a fully refurbished 6'1" grand piano in excellent condition. The C3 is one of the most widely respected and recognized grand pianos in its class, and for good reason—it offers strong performance, durability, and a clear, powerful tonal profile.

At 6'1", this is what I consider an ideal size for a home grand. You get enough string length and soundboard area to produce real depth, sustain, and projection, without stepping into a size that becomes difficult to accommodate in a typical living space.

This piano has gone through a full refurbishment process. The action has been carefully serviced and regulated to bring it back to a highly consistent, responsive feel—functioning very close to what you would expect from a new instrument.

Tonally, this piano has the classic Yamaha C-series character—bright, clear, and powerful. It has strong projection, a clean treble, and a lively, “poppy” response that works well for a wide range of playing styles, from classical to contemporary.

What I like about this Yamaha C3:

    • 6'1" grand — excellent balance of size, power, and versatility
    • Fully refurbished action for consistent, reliable performance
    • Bright, clear Yamaha tone with strong projection
    • Smooth, responsive touch
    • Proven long-term durability and stability

The C3 is often considered the “little brother” to the C7, which is commonly found in concert venues and recording studios. While slightly smaller, the C3 still delivers a significant amount of power and is one of the most popular choices for serious pianists in a home setting.

After refurbishment, this piano has decades of excellent use ahead of it. And from a value standpoint, it offers much of the performance of a new C3—at a significantly lower investment.

As with every piano in my shop, this instrument has gone through final prep including regulation refinement, voicing, and tuning to A-440
