The Jackson Family Piano!
The Jackson Family Piano!
I am a wife and mother of four children living here in Orem. We love spending time together and enjoying all the beauties of Utah. I work at an elementary school and love seeing children learn and grow. I love music and inherited my grandma’s old piano.
My mom told me my great grandma had this player piano in her home and that she played it when she was a little girl (This would have been in the 1950’s). This piano had been in the home which was owned by my great grandmother’s parents for years before my mom was even born, but we are not sure who first purchased it. My grandma inherited the piano from her mom and had it in her basement when I was a little girl, and it was used greatly be all her children and grandchildren. I enjoyed playing and singing with my cousins downstairs many Sunday evenings. I have a concert pianist sister and cousins who are very talented pianists, so music meant a lot to our family. My husband and I lived with my grandma for several years and helped her with meals and house care. When we moved out she gave me her player piano because I loved it and all the memories that came with it. I enjoy playing the piano and want to keep the memories alive with this antique instrument . The player piano still works, but some of the notes won’t play. It has been a dream of mine to get this piano refurbished. My grandmother passed away many years ago, but every time I sit down to play the memories of her joyful life and happy home come flooding to my mind.
