The Fox Family Piano!

The Fox Family Piano!

I remember the feeling of sitting in the NICU with my twin at just four years old: hearing the anxious pulse of the heart monitors that seemed to mirror my own heart, listening to the hushed whispers of the staff, and noticing the strange foreignness of it all as I began to understand the frailty of life. My younger twin siblings spent months there, after being born at twenty-seven weeks. Both of my siblings miraculously survived, although a stroke left my brother with physical and mental disabilities. The experience of these few months became an anchor for our family and define who we are today. We may be unique in some ways, working with the hectic life created by two sets of twins and my brother’s disabilities, but in reality we’re not unlike other families: we have fun together and love each other despite our differences.

The months surrounding my younger sibling’s birth when I was just four years old were an emotional, spiritual, and financial burden for our family, but also the time that my love for music developed into a deep desire to produce it. The peaceful comfort that music uniquely provides captivated me, and my mother’s love shone through when she purchased a beautiful antique baby grand piano, despite the financial burden it created in a difficult time. I adored it, and faithfully practiced, developing my musical ability throughout my entire childhood.

Now, we chose to keep this family treasure because of the memories it created and the constant reminder of my mom’s love, despite frequent maintenance issues and associated fees. We often use it as a family with the quartet created with my mom on the cello, my twin brother on the violin, my younger sister on the viola, and her twin brother watching with my dad. Being chosen as the recipient would allow this joy to continue and preserve this symbol of my mother’s love. This is the beginning of its legacy, but that doesn’t diminish the value it has to us.

"I have a 45 year old piano that has a great deal of sentimental value as it is the piano my dad gave me as a young girl. Me and my children have learned to love and play music at this piano. Unfortunately, the piano had taken a beating as we have moved cross country multiple times. My dad recently passed away and I wanted to restore the piano. A friend of mine recommended Brigham Larson Pianos and I’m so glad she did. The entire restoration process has been amazing. They listened to what I wanted, made recommendations and kept me updated every step of the way. Today they delivered my piano and I am thrilled with the restoration! It is absolutely beautiful and is exactly what I envisioned! From pickup to delivery the people at Brigham Larson Pianos have been extraordinary! Thank you for restoring a piece of my childhood and a piece of my heart. It is beautiful!" —Kellie Bray

"I can't say enough good things about Brigham Larson Pianos. I inherited a baby grand piano that no one else wanted because it needed significant refurbishing. I researched my options thoroughly. I called all over the country to get estimates. Then someone recommended Brigham Larson, which was just a town away. Not only was Brigham's estimate very reasonable compared to other restorers, but the customer service was incredible. Brigram and his whole staff were great to work with. They kept me informed all along the way. And my piano turned out gorgeous! It looks beautiful and sounds fantastic! Thank you, Brigham Larson, for brining my piano back to life! It will be treasured by family for several more generations!" —Bonnye Wallace

"Brigham Larson is by far the best place for piano restoration! The entire team was kind and informative throughout the process. I was able to meet with Brigham personally and talk about the best options for restoration vs. refurbishment of a 100yr heirloom piano. I never felt pressured to do one or the other. He was honest and truly an expert. We were able to put together a custom plan to fit our family’s needs. The sound and quality is amazing. Highly recommend!" - Amy Card
