My name is Jane Jorgensen Larsen and I inherited our family piano, which is need of restoration.  The piano was the start of a musical legacy, which includes 35 pianists, 17 other instruments played by family members, most all of the four generations of the Jorgensen family sing or have other musical abilities.

My parents, Phil &Nina Jorgensen, were high school sweethearts. They both would tell us that during their dating years they fell in love the moment they began singing harmonies together.  They married in 1945 and purchased our 1903 Schiller upright grand piano in 1955.  My oldest brother Greg started taking lessons bringing this beautiful instrument to life.  Within a short time it became the heart of our home. Eventually my seven and I were all added to our amazing piano teacher, La Var Jenson’s list of students. Practicing for lessons, preparing piano or vocal numbers for school, church, community programs, and simple enjoyment as well, our piano brought joy for over 65 years before being moved to storage in 2021 out of necessity. I always say my parent’s were born with music in their bones. And have passed it down to us. Their love of music created a family legacy that lives on, now spanning 4 generations. Beautiful music is magical, having the capacity to heal hearts and change lives. We are so blessed to have grown up in a home where we had the opportunity to gather together around our piano during celebrations. This beautiful piano has been a big part of so many lives.
