"Brigham and his wife sold us our Yamaha U1 piano. What a fabulous experience. Their showroom is excellent. Their selection of used pianos is unmatched. They allow customers to tour their behind-the-scenes process of restoring and cleaning old and new pianos. Brigham is very knowledgeable about the used and new piano business. He took time out of his Saturday hike with his kids to talk over the phone to my wife and I about our potential purchase. If I needed to buy a piano every year, this is where I'd go." —Stephen C.

"No pressure environment, incredible selection of beautiful pianos. Brigham gave me a much better trade-in value for my older piano than the other piano stores in the city. Delivery and pick-up of old piano went smoothly, and my new Yamaha sounds absolutely amazing" — Sabina I.

"Last week I walked into Brigham Larson Pianos for the first time. I had never seen it before but as a musician, I am drawn to piano shops and the store sign pulled me in off the street. I walked in and sat myself down at a beautiful Yamaha and begin to play a few songs. Almost immediately I was greeted by the friendly staff/owners and given a tour of the store. I was impressed by all that they had-- an elegant piano gallery, an extensive piano repair/tech shop, a recital hall, a teaching academy, and an affordable piano rental service. Go check it out and you'll be impressed as I was!" — David R.

Refurbished vs. Used Yamaha Pianos: What’s the Difference?
A used Yamaha piano is typically sold as-is. It may look fine and even sound acceptable at first, but it has usually seen years—or decades—of normal wear without deeper mechanical renewal.
A refurbished Yamaha piano, on the other hand, has been professionally serviced to restore how the piano actually plays and responds. In my piano shop, refurbishment focuses on the parts that matter most to pianists:
- Action regulation and touch consistency
- Hammer reshaping and voicing
- Key leveling and mechanical precision
- Overall playability and musical control
Refurbishment doesn’t change the character of the piano—it restores it.
Most Yamaha pianos benefit from refurbishment about every 20–25 years. This keeps the piano responsive, stable, and enjoyable to play. Without it, even a well-built piano can feel uneven or tiring over time.
That’s why many Yamaha pianos sold through private listings or classifieds are often due for professional refurbishment. Once properly serviced, they can become outstanding long-term instruments.

Add a self playing system
QRS Player System Installation
For those who want modern convenience without sacrificing acoustic quality, a QRS player system can be professionally installed on select Yamaha pianos. This allows your piano to play itself with impressive musical realism while remaining a fully acoustic instrument. Player systems are only installed on pianos that meet the mechanical and musical standards required for long-term success.
Touch and tone tailored for you
Touch, Tone & Regulation Customization
Yamaha pianos respond extremely well to precise mechanical regulation and voicing. Through detailed adjustment of key leveling, let-off, drop, repetition, and hammer alignment, the action is balanced for even touch and reliable control. Tonal voicing refines hammer felt density and strike point to achieve clarity, balance, and appropriate sustain for the room. This process ensures the piano plays consistently across the keyboard and responds accurately to the pianist’s technique
The most meaningful way to customize a Yamaha piano is through how it responds to the player. Through careful regulation and voicing, the action can be adjusted for consistency, control, and comfort, while the tone is shaped to suit both the pianist and the space. This work brings balance, clarity, and musical responsiveness to the instrument, allowing it to perform at its highest level rather than feeling generic or factory-set.
Modern Technology
Silent Play System
A custom silent play system allows you to enjoy your piano at any hour using headphones, without disturbing others in your home. Professionally installed, it preserves the natural touch of your instrument while adding modern flexibility and control.

Yamaha U3 Custom Music Desk
Check out this custom modification we made to a Yamaha U3 music desk. The client wanted a longer, more functional music desk to better accommodate multiple sheets of music, so we took on the challenge of extending it while maintaining a seamless look.
Not only did we increase the length, but we also upgraded it with a suede lining, a small detail that makes a big difference in protecting sheet music from slipping while adding a luxurious touch.
