Collection: Colby Piano Company

The Colby Piano Company was founded in 1859 by Charles C. Colby, the Colby Piano Company produced instruments known for their quality craftsmanship and musical tone during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The American company operated in Erie, Pennsylvania, and gained a reputation for building fine upright pianos.

Today, many Colby pianos that remain are beautiful vintage upright heirlooms that have been carefully restored. When properly rebuilt, these pianos can provide a warm, resonant tone and the classic character that many players appreciate in historic American instruments.

Colby uprights often feature solid cabinetry, traditional piano scaling, and the elegant styling typical of pianos built around the turn of the century. Because of their craftsmanship and history, restored Colby pianos are a wonderful choice for homes, collectors, and musicians who appreciate vintage American pianos
